Thanks Janie--I realize I've never had the Southern kind. Round here (in 'God's own country'--but I'm a Yank) I can't buy real cornmeal, but polenta works great so far.

All these old heirloom cast iron pots sound so nice--the total opposite of the throwaway economy.
