A pop version was published and was in the charts in the 40s I think.
I have the sheet music somewhere, and of course presumably from this version arose the terrace chant:-

No-o, no-o, no-o!
Sung with gusto when the singers' team has just gone into the lead.

Is this also in use on the western side of the pond?
