After Dunblane the families and supporters put out a fund-raising record for the anti-guns campaign - Knocking on Heaven's Door

I'd be surprised if that didn't get sung on the Mothers' Day marches.

What puzzles me is why the people who think that "the right to bear arms" is something they want to defend aren't the strongest and most rigorous promoters of tougher gun laws. But instead we see an organisation that talks about enforcing existing laws, maybe, but in practice spends millions of dollarsd trying to stop the mildest and most commonsense reforms.

It's as if an organisation ostensibly in favour of supporting the retention of Capital Punsishment was to campaign in favour of the right to form lynchmobs. Self defeating in the long run.

Maybe the NRA has been infiltrated - Charlton Heston is really just in there to work to get rid of the guns.
