My dogs are so alert and happy when they see me approach the back door with a plate. I hand feed them alternately, and when the majority of the offering is gone, I hold the plate down for the cleanup phase. (They don't get table food often, usually only meat scraps. That said, I think these two would eat dirt if I hand fed it to them.)
