Using the dogwasher was fine with my last dog (except for the dirty looks when it was broccoli) but this one just throws up if she's given anything but dry dog food.

As for the sharp knives issue - if anyone puts my carefully honed and steeled kitchen knives in the dishwasher they are DEAD - do you hear me? DEAD!!!! (I've lost several wives that way.)
