The Bus service to and from Exeter is pretty good but I would double check the last bus back time it may not be as late as it has been in the past ( when Stagecoach were providing the Festival circular bus service).

I hope you've got your B&B sorted out because there will be very little accommodation that is not booked in Sidmouth itself.
