Speaking of embarrasing snickers---

Many years ago when I had really long hair I was helping fix dinner at a friend's house. You can guess where this is going. It was an au gratin dish and there was an elderly relative at the end of the table next to Vernon. He got up and went into the kitchen, apparently in distress. I followed, and finally got out of him that he watched as the woman had found a hair in her mouth, and pulled one end and it kept coming and coming. . .

Geez. I could hardly stand to go sit back down at the table!
