Ya know, I used to do this song 'way back in the 60s (one of several I learned off the GHP album, the first Riley Puckett reissue), and what I made of that line was "You might dream wonderful punching a bag." Made no sense on God's green earth but that's the way I did it back then. I doubt I've even started this song since the Nixon administration, but listening to an mp3 at Juneberry the other night, that's still what I hear him saying. And it's definitely Ford (notorious rattletraps), not 'gourd.'
