"Each to there own taste of course but I've always felt a bit disappointed by Landlord. I find it a perfectly acceptable drink but for me, it has never matched up to the enthusiastic comments I read about it."

It needs to be treated with some tenderness by a caring cellarman. My wife had a pint in my local last night which was arguably one of the finest pints of beer I have ever tasted. Unfortunately it was up against a rather fine porter and I couldn't resist.

As for the closing of pubs, we recently lost a fine and (according to the then Landlord) profitable session pub because the brewery decided the demographic of the local population meant they could charge £3.00 a pint and hike up the food prices. To his credit, the landlord went to court to try to stop them closing him down when he refused kowtow to their demands, but after a year they closed him down and the pub which is in a beautiful spot, now sites dark and empty.

Of course, this is what happens when you have an unregulated free market - big brewers buy up the pubs and then close them down. Simple really - vote against capitalism and let's get back on track.
