Good for you Rapunzel!
My wife learned to drive when she was about seventeen. Whereas I didn't learn to drive til I was in my mid twenties, and I was a slow learner. So for about 18 months we had an L plate on the car. We were ALWAYS getting stopped on the motorway - the cops presumed I was giving my wife a driving lesson as we went down the motorway.
