Methinks the thread about festivals surviving is being echoed here. Price will be a significant factor in the numbers attending - certainly next year as people look at the costs and the fare. With the expected economic climate, the "worth" of the event will motivate people or demotivate them. Acts that would have been tolerated or seen twice in a year when costs were more favourable will not be as tolerable.

I couldn't possibly comment on the merits of Yorkshire festivals - even Beverley must have changed since I was going regularly. But it looks like festivals are peaking. Changing - for sure. Remember when Glastonbury called itself a Folk Festival? (and Trowbridge for that matter)
