Thread Name: Origins: Don't Go in the Lion's Cage Tonight
Subject: RE: Lyr Req: Don't Go In the Lion's Cage Tonight
In March, the following occurred:
"Trying too hard to make them funny can often kill the joke. Sometimes a straight rendition can produce the funniest result."
And BK Lick said: But on the other hand, consider [Blicky] THIS PERFORMANCE.
Okay, I clicked on the link. The linked "performance", if you want to call it that, was not "on the other hand". It illustrated quite clearly what was said in the quoted comment of someone else.
To the extent that there were laughs, the laughter had almost nothing to do with the joke of the song, but rather with personal silliness of the pathetic performer. The whole thing was embarrassing to watch, so much so that I quit about half way through the video and returned to Mudcat, happy to be away from such willful stupidity.
