This radio show broadcasts weekly in the NYC area: Radio Station WFMU: 91.1 fm, Tuesday, 6-7pm. This show, which I've been listening to for 4 years, focuses on folk music field recordings released on 78 rpm and cylinders from the dawn of recording to about l940. Ten percent of the shows are about English language recordings. 90% are non English performers and music: Greece and Africa are heavily represented. I taped his show of "Cowboy Songs" (USA)about 2 years ago and have played it again and again. I get impatient with the heavy concentration on non-English language stuff, but Pat Conte is doing a wonderful job.
