For the benefit of all discerning folkies in and around Sheffield, George Papavgeris will be appearing at Kiveton Park Folk Club on Tuesday 6th May. George is a prolific songwriter who has recieved critical acclaim from some of the scene's foremost performers and many of his songs have been recorded by others. Georges subjects are myriad and his presentations expertly delivered. Don't expect introspective,'navel-gazing' stuff from this guy. There'll be a chance to get your gob around a couple of refrains as George sings his songs 'in praise of ordinary people'. Kick off 8.45. Admission £4. Free tea/coffee/grub and cheap bar.
