If trad music is used, there may be some $ for a trad musician. I wrote and played a little banjo riff for a Mayola Ice Cream commercial in North Carolina about 45 years ago, and, figured by the hour, the $25 for 15 seconds of music remains the best paying gig (by the hour) I ever had. :)
