What would an acoustic one be?

If you're not doing Indian music with it, you may find the tuning a bit disconcerting.

My experience of them is rather limited - trying to do a "fusion" performance of our Middle Eastern band with an Indian singer who backed herself with a shruti box. The structures of Indian and Arabic music are similar; the intonation systems are far enough apart to make your brain hurt.
