Yeah, a skunk can be descented. Sears (of all places!) used to sell them via their catalog back in the 1950s.

But when you descent them they lose what is pretty much their only natural defense.

I'd call the local animal shelter and have them trap and remove it. Trap is OUTSIDE your mudroom, preferably as far away from the house as you can. Iffen you don't, the P-Vine is liable to say things you don't wanna hear.
