I've watched both the documentary and the feature film about Dallaire, both entitled "Shake Hands with the Devil", like the book. Documentary Feature Film Both are extremely good, and I recommend that you watch the feature first because it gives you a better understanding of what happened in what order if you're not intimately familiar with what he went through. It is based upon the book that Dallaire wrote. The documentary is Dallaire's return to Rwanda for the first time since he left and his reactions. ... Romeo Dallaire saved thousands of Rwandans, even with all the problems. He could have stopped the slaughter or at least minimized it if those supplying he and his troops had cared even remotely. He broke direct orders to save those lives that he did. Watch the films. It gives one a far better impression of the horror he went through, and why it should never happen again.
