Well the general feel of the story is spot on but I'm not sure of the details.

I remember a trip to Alford - a village in Lincolneshire with a Windmill- a think it was a Morris Ring event. On the Saturday Tour Chris drank 27 pints of bitter. Mind you it did start about 8.30am and go on after midnight so it was about one an hour.
