What good acts and ceilidh bands are around the folk festivals these days?
Many years ago I used to go to folk festivals and there were certain popular acts that would come up and special things to look out for that I knew I would enjoy. I remember the Albion Band, the Oyster Band, Whippersnapper, Dab Hand, The old Swan Band, Gas Mark 5, Gina Le Faux, T-Jazz, Altan, Fairport Convention, DeDannan, The Watersons, Frankie Armstrong, Adrian May, Kitsyke Will, Strawhead, The Old Rope String Band, and on and on….
Many of these are still going, but they must have been joined by other new acts by now.
I don't get to many folk festivals these days and wondered what new things are about. For example, are there any really good ceilidh bands to look out for?
