I should note that the great Norman McLaren made a 5-part series called Animated Motion, available from the NFB. It's animation at its most basic. A great place to start, though he can be a bit tedious. "A ten frame hold differs from an 8-frame hold, in that it is slightly longer, and lasts for a greater length of time."
