Thread Name: Lyr/Chords Req: If I Were a Carpenter (Tim Hardin)
Subject: RE: Lyr/Chords Req: If I were a Carpenter
One version: "If I were a carpenter, and you were a lady" - this line is D,C,G,D as is each one of the rest of the verse lines, "Would you marry me anyway, would you have my baby?" (D,C,G,D). When you get to "Save my love for loneliness, Save my love for sorrow," those are D,C (first phrase), D, C (Second), and the last line: "I've given you my onliness, come give me your tomorrw" goes back to D,C,G,D. It is obvious where the changes are when you play.
