Anyone can visit The Spinners Fan Club Site at

I had the pleasure of meeting The Spinners in Liverpool when I lived there for a time in 1976 and again in 1979. The Lads are all "smashing" blokes. I appreciated their music, then, and now. Their live performances were filled with good-natured humor and leap-frogged time, distance and cultures.

Each one of The Lads has a special place in my heart as I got to know them as friends. Cliff and his first wife, Janet, invited me into their home for dinner. Cliff had a 1956 Gibson hanging on the wall. It matched my own 1956 Gibson. We sat around, chatting, you'd never guess that he was the same man who, earlier that night, sang at The Liverpool Philharmonic Hall in a televised concert for millions.

That dear, sweet, gentle man shall be missed.

Cliff Hall, RIP
