As I understand it, "It's Raining Men" was written and arranged by TV music director Paul Shaffer, currently working on Letterman's Late Show, formerly on Saturday Night Live, and regular bandleader for the annual Rock & Roll Hall of Fame extravganza and a few other such events.

Dave likes to give Paul an occasional ribbing about his connection to this song. It's an excellent recording and the Weather Girls can really sing (better than the McCain Girls, that's for sure), but ~ the song is really pretty silly and easy to ridicule, doncha think?
