"I remember the same words and definitions we have today had a nearly opposite meaning 40 years ago. This is the result of deliberate think tank projects that explore new and efficient ways to lie, bought and paid for by those who will benefit the most." Don

I'm curious, Don. What are those words and definitions? I don't suppose you mean words like 'bad' or 'cold' or 'harsh'.

I recognize truth in your recital of many changes, of course. Anyone who has been paying attention cannot fail to be bemused, if not alarmed at some developments. On the other hand, change has also brought many improvements. Your "sickening racial and gender discrimination" for one. I'm 72 years old and I have seen even more changes than you have. But I haven't seen as many as my 94 year old neighbor down the street. Change is a given and it takes no particular acumen to recognize it.

But I really don't believe in "immortal institutions"; I don't even know what you mean by that.

As for living 700 years so we can be wiser- why not settle for 150?
