The little diddlers were out there yelling this morning for some time. They really enjoy making these authoritative declarations of hegemony and letting the whole world know who's in charge.

I opened the window and yelled, "Shut up, you tiddlers!"
("tiddler" - another handy expression for small dogs)

They loved it. Any attention is good.
