Bob Nolan was a poetic genius IMO, for his evocative imagery, especially of the Southwest.
A little topic for discussion: In Cool Water we assume that Dan and his rider survive the desert. But did they die in the Jim Reeves song "The Blizzard/Mary Ann's"?
