who is this 'we' you speak of, Mr. Offer, sir? *wry grin*

The place began as that rare spot that one COULD find discussions of folk & blues and stuff that was 'almost' in those categories.

I predicted 8-9 years ago that if we didn't try to limit it, it would be diluted by those who don't care for ANY limitations or categories...partially because we do what we do so well, but partly because many of our members are eclectic and have a wide range of knowlege of music.

"Folk", even with its hard-to-define gray areas, kinda needs a little spot where those with 'folk related' questions and information can trade posts without 'pop' and 'rock' and 'rap' etc. being distracting. We have done moderately well, but as more folks discover us, more & more divergent stuff pops up. I used to protest loudly, but since management (meaning the owner,Max, in this case) has decided not to make any hard & fast rules, there's little I can say...except to suggest once more that traditional folk/blues is NOT a huge part of the musical scene anymore, and if ANYTHING is allowed here, it will get harder & harder to sort out.

I am not in charge, I can't stop anyone....I can only look sad & pitiful and plead for restraint...*sniffff*....
