All bottles and cans are recycled in Alberta; pop and beer cans, liquor bottles and water bottles are worth five cents to Scouts or whoever takes them in to depots.

Water here is very hard (calcium and magnesium carbonates from glacial and river sources) but taste is good. Have to buy distilled water for steam irons, etc., and furnace humidifiers have to have elements replaced frequently or the deposit dissolved with vinegar, etc.
