Because London (and any large city) has no homeless, no beggars, everyone is happy, no bag ladies anywhere to be seen, and nobody sleeps on park benches unless they are feeling romantic on a balmy summer's night... And the tune itself, so catchy that you can hum the first six notes (ta-ta-ta-ti-ti-ti) to anyone in the world and they will recognise it. So recogniseable that it has become trite.

But what a pension! And what honour to have become part of the world's cultural furniture, so to speak, that you are no longer deemed special - because you are everywhere.
