Thread Name: Lyr Req: Propane (spoof on 'Cocaine')
Subject: Lyr Add: PROPANE (Pinkard & Bowden parody COCAINE)
A "video" can be found at YouTube. (Actually it's one of those amateurishly-made paste-ups of the audio, probably taken from a CD, matched with various still photos. This kind of thing is so common on YouTube that there ought to be a name for it. To call it a "video" seems misleading.) Here's my transcription:

PROPANE
As sung by Pinkard & Bowden.

If you want to get warm when you're down on the farm, propane.
If you live in the sticks and your income is fixed, propane.
It's so high, it's so high, it's so high, propane.

When your grandma gets old, you can't let her get cold, propane.
When your cousin she's hot but your fingers are not, propane.
It's so high, it's so high, it's so high, propane.

When your tank's out of gas and you're freezing your ass, propane.
When you think that you're stuck, here comes that old big truck, propane.
It's so high, it's so high, it's so high, propane.
It's so high, it's so high, it's so high, propane.

[This song is on Pinkard & Bowden's album "Cousins, Cattle & Other Love Stories," Warner Bros. CD 2-26844, 1992.]

[By the way, the original COCAINE, made famous by Eric Clapton, was written by J. J. Cale.]
