A hockey mom is a mom who drives kids around to hockey games and sits in the bleachers and cheers for their kids.

It really does seem to matter to some people. One of my sisters is a soccer mom, and she loves Palin. Of course, my sister is also a right wing, born-again, end times Christian, so that's probably a part of it, too.
