These scares are not new.

year, 1952..me, on my paper route, find a tiny tabloid magazine about 4"x6" (well, I picked it up because it had Marilyn Monroe on the cover)..but one article was titled: "Can the H-Bomb destroy the world?"
...the answer: Um...we dunno, but rhetorical questions about it helps sell magazines.
