Rap: I read "eye glass" as "glass eye," too. Reminded me of that old joke with the punchline, "I'll be keeping an eye out for you!"

I think we both made that error because we're accustomed to "eyeglass" (or, more usually, "eyeglasses") being written as one word.

My current specs have a thin gold-color frame only across the top; the sides and bottoms of the lenses are unframed plastic. The temples (side-pieces) are relatively thick and sturdy. I take 'em on and off all day, as I leave and return to the computer monitor, and don't anticipate them breaking down.

My previous pair was similiarly rimless and generally thinner and mroe fragile, and they didn't break down over a three-year period. I had to replace them only because of a prescription change.
