Thread Name: BS: How About an Analogy about McCain/Obama
Subject: BS: How About and Anology about McCain/Obama
Your thoughts requested:   Think of the film High Noon---one of the (if not the) greatest Western ever made. More a moral tale than a Western.

McCain wants to call off the debate Friday so he can concentrate on the economic issues. Suppose the Gary Cooper character in High Noon asked the protagonists to take a later train---think it would work?

Obama is not "the bad guys" coming into town but, rather, on the train and a good guy. Just role reversal here---McCain ---the alleged leader--has to concentrate on only one issue at a time. Multi tasking is, I suppose, a new-age phenominum that Obama can relate to.

Sarah, of course, can also multi-task--lots of kids to wean, diplomats to meet, and dress right. Diplomatic talk seemed to be mostly about her kids and those of the diplomats. As Jon Stewart said"...gee, Karzai's kid has a strange name--not like Sarah's child---Trig".

How about another thought about Sarah and her experience. Let us say she has all the experience needed to be Pres. because of her being the mayor of a town and all that managerial expertise--forgetting the petty vendattas she engaged in there and as governor. Would you, in good conscience, if you were a New Yorker, vote for her over someone like Koch, Bloomberg, LaGuardia, etc; (I omit Giulliani--another discussion on that >)*&^) who governed a city of millions over a city of a few thousand---or a governor of a state with a huge oil revenue that feeds their much smaller budget than NY state and the governors that have had to cope with that and all the intricacies of the state's various relationships with its major--and I emphasize "major" cities.

On a serious note. Her selection was just another example of McCain's lack of independence and integrity as he panders to his alleged support by the ultra right, the evangelicals, and totally tunnel visioned folks that see only a flag, war, and yell USA USA as we go down the economic and diplomatic tube.

You have to know he wanted Lieberman. I don't care for Lieberman; but McCain should have stuck to what he supposedly believed in. Hopefully his chickens come home to roost--and Sarah is no spring Chicken for sure.
