Those with literal minds can do things of great complexity that creative & subjective minded people can not do as well and vice versa.

The literal minded people may have more gene tracers of Neandethal mind characteristics.
The more subjective minded people may have less.

You might be literal minded if satire and parody leaves you cold most of the time or if metaphors are more of a distraction than an enhancment of communication.
