at present I'm working on a series of drawings that are all about solving problems. I start by drawing a geometric pattern, and work on it slowly each evening over a period of days or weeks. I transform it from a rigid pattern by layering colours and flowing lines until it turns into something completely different.
the original structure is still under there, but has been made organic and flowing by the application of moving colours. it's like doing a jigsaw, thinking about balancing colours and line as it develops. the fun thing is, i don't know when it starts what it will look like when it's finished, it is an unpredicatble process.
