SRS,

Waiting for a ride to a funeral today, I took a closer look at the just-acquired hankies today; two are white Irish Linen (brand new but old); four are white cotton (two new and two used gently) with colorful embroidery-floss lace edges; two are cream cotton with lace edging; 1 was a bride's for-show-only hankie, totally synthetic, not getting near MY nose (save it for a traveling altar linen), and 1 was a fragile cream cotton with cream tatted edging coming off from too many launderings. (That one's probably valuable.)

That's in addition to the several maire-anne sent me that are cotton batiste varieties with embroidered accents and a few others I can't describe without diving into the laundry pile.

Anyway I'll keep my eye out at our parish thrift shop. I already have a nice assortment of vintage tatted doilies from there, and I can ask the folks who volunteer there to send hankies my way, and I'll share.

I forgot to leave the church stash at the church, because they came home in my jumper pocket.... I hope they go back, promptly!
