Maryanne,

Congratulations on the chutney! Will you tell us your recipe? It sounds like a great thing to make. And congratulations on the jars pinging! I'm just getting into that, but when I made jelly for the first time this summer, that was the music to my ears to know I'd done it right. I've done a few other things, with tomatoes, since. Salsa, canned tomatoes, etc. It's hard work, no doubt about it. No cost savings either, if you were paid for your time. But it is so satisfying.

By the way--vinyl is making a comeback. You may want to search a few of the record shops or look for articles about recordings once again being issued on vinyl before you toss yours.

Susan, please do! keep me in mind if you see more vintage hankies. Nothing synthetic, just linen or cotton, the very fine ones only. I'm not looking for the men's hankies big enough to use as a sling or a bandanna. :) Let me know the cost--I can probably use as many as you find, but I like to wash them about once a month, then iron them and fold them for my dresser drawer. I have a basket on my dresser so every evening I empty my keys from my pocket and drop my hankie in the muslin-lined basket. (They get washed in a special delicate garment bag with other stuff on a gentle setting).

Today I sold the hammered dulcimer and case on eBay at a bargain basement price, but I'm tired of looking at that huge box in my living room and it will still put some much needed cash in my PayPal account. That gets moved out tomorrow--yaaaaa! It's such a space hog.
