An art teacher I had, jewellery design and bronze-casting, once used all of her old hankies to make an art installation. She suspended thin wires from the ceiling, made a square, attached to them, of thin rods, then hung the hankies, sewn together, across the rods and over the edges, so that they hung like a tablecloth and made it look as though there was a table under them. It was supposed to represent the dining table she'd played under as a child while displaying the old hankies and their histories. It was rather interesting, even if she was a pretentious person, at times. In the darkened art gallery with spotlights highlighting it, one could imagine hiding under it and i loved seeing all of the details of the hankies. I've a bunch of them, too.:-)
