Subject: RE: BS: October Seasonal de-clutter BIG push
I've decided to treat myself: the personal hankies get tossed into the regular load of whites and washed twice, rinsed four times, no dryer sheets, then folded and set back where needed. But I've decided that when the supply is sufficient (LOL, dangerdanger!) I'll send them, washed like that, along to the cleaners with the regular drycleaning stuff for a nice pressing and folding.

Our close friend Ed has a very funny story about hankies. He likes to keep the staff at the facilities he "visits" (he's and Edith are living at home for the moment) laughing. bless him. One staff member asked him one day, "What's that nasty thing hanging outta your pocket, old man?" I can't describe this just in words.... people here are real kidders.... but he replied with a grin, "Snot rag!" She pretended to be scandalized, and shouted back, "Hankie!!!" He responded, "Not after it's been used!"

Now they run this routine every time they pass in a hallway, abbareviated-- just picking up where they left off: "Snot Rag!" "Hankie!" "Snot Rag!" "Hankie!"

He told me the story so that when someone with authority eventually misunderstands and thinks it's an Alzheimers conversation, and locks him up, I can spring him. Because I know the true story and he knows I will ferret him out if he goes missing!

One thing Ed and I have richly in common is our love of accuracy in speech. I keep forgetting to tell him I have a stash of these now-- think I'll call him and see how he's doing.
