Don't know if anyone has seen the BBC Television series about Churchill starring Albert Finney as Churchill, but there was a character named Ralph in the series which was pronounced Rafe.
My mother in her infinite wisdom gave me Rayford as my first name. I went to great pains to conceal it while in high school but somehow some classmates found out (probably from my mother). The rest of the year, to my classmates, I was Rafe instead of Doug.
