I've left that kind of stuff out at the curb--surprising what people pick up. And old fence slats--folks with wood-burning stoves like those for kindling.

A neighbor has a spinet piano he wants to sell for a reasonable (low) price. My big old antique heirloom needs to be refurbished and I don't play it much. I'm thinking of buying my neighbor's piano, getting it tuned and having it here to play because I miss that. I've been planning to save to restore my piano. Maybe I should just play my piano and save my cash, but there are a couple of broken hammers (it is an 1885 Weber upright rosewood veneer with a birds-eye maple sounding board, is gorgeous and sounded great when it could be tuned and was bought new by my family from Connecticut).

The down-side--they're smokers and it will smell like cigarettes, inside and out. I could clean and polish it, but the inside will still give off that smell. And that is a big downside.
