Moving a few more eBay items today, but it's a gorgeous day out so I think I'll shift gears and go clear out the potted plants that are past their prime, make a new mix of soil and compost for these pots, and put in some seeds. Although my gardening guru doesn't like using peat moss (it's "dead") it does act like the vermiculite in commercial potting soil to keep it from packing down too much, but it isn't nasty vermiculite.

I put more bowls of beer out last night so I need to see if more snails partied hearty and threw themselves into the bowl to drown their sorrows. And it's time to pick more eggplant.

I went to work yesterday with a bucket full of eggplant and peppers and it was very easy to give them away. I came around the corner to my office at one point and the second in charge at the library was poking in my bucket. She straighted up and said "never mind!" and I asked if she needed another eggplant (I brought her one a couple of days ago.) "Yes, you may remember that my brother is coming to town tonight and I have only one eggplant." Gave her another, and got out of there with four for my friend who cooks up dishes and cans them.

I'll do some of that cooking and canning myself this evening, I think.
