Bagged up 200 pounds of organically grown potatoes in 5 and 20 pound bags. They'll go down cellar into the produce bin we're building from the tops of several greenhouse "benches" and some recycled lumber. Perhaps by next year we'll have built a makeshift root cellar with ventilation, and we can store carrots, sweet potatoes, and potatoes in one section with apples and pears in a separate area. My bulb forcing area is at the opposite end of the cellar so the ethylene gas produced by the apples in particular won't inhibit the potted bulbs from sprouting.

The bagging of the potatoes frees up floor space in both the dining room and kitchen, so the next stack to go will be the garden and greenhouse tools by the door. Snow flurries may hit midweek, so these things just have to be stored out of the kitchen. It's time to fire up the stove.
