Have found a marketer of dehydrators only about 20 miles away from here, near York. I emailed them this afternoon and they sent me details of one with drawers that can be left out, to create a bigger gap. Not compact, but it will do the trick - for a price! I think it's an Excelsior: it's American, anyway.

Our Rector is always spilling his dinner down his shirts (so he says) and gets through a lot. He wears both black and grey. Peter (my man who "does") also has blue. Looks very good with chinos and sandals! (The guy smokes cheroots as well!)
