Gee, I picked up that chainlink right on time-- for a SPRING project that is. Sucha pretty fall day yesterday.... prolly the last one. (I also nabbed a few good pieces of faux furniture to disassemble and remake for a DVR-holding box/shelf atop the Sallie-sourced, pretty TV cabinet. (It's all particle board, of course, but good dense, heavy stuff with a really nice veneer.) The pink stuff ("wintry mix") is landing today. Wihout having even seen the forecast, I was already securing all the goodies out of the rain-blow line on the front porch last night, and setting up a few small projects. I must be getting a good weather nose to go with my silvering hair.

Hardi rewarded me with a cordless Dremel for knocking off the dogs' toenails. Be nice for jewelry, too-- I have some old huge, clunky earrings I think will make good pendants for those essential parish and dioscesan dressup occasions. Cheap enough to practice/learn Dremeling.... it's nice for calluses, too! :~) The charger sits in the charging zone we made last year, in our kitchen.

Anyway that same protected porch landing where I stowed the furniture bits is gonna make a GREAT occasional dog-grooming stand (and get me out there for fresh air)! I'll have to collect up their brushes and find a nice container for them..... As soon as I bring in and disassemble those little cabinets... and once the chainlink is out of the van, we can fill it up with the season's driveway cinders. (In bins.) Friday, on Hardi's day off. It will make a nice drive to fetch 'em.

But it is great to be flipping the purposes of the two porches this old house provides: I used to think the front one oughtta be the company porch, but no one ever wants to use it for more than 5 minutes-- it's always either too cold or too sunny-hot! The back porch is MUCH better for private sitting, grilling, etc.!!! And it already has the more-accessible steps. So the chainlink will be unloaded to the FRONT porch, where tallish hedges screen the storage from the road and where there's a step I can back the van up to as an unloading dock, and where there's a large, open area just waiting for a pile of chainlink-project-to-come. It'll be easy for Hardi to fetch it back off the porch with his little John Deere, too, in the spring.

The obsolete ski machine left the property today. Our road is too fast for people to pull over, and it didn't look enough like what it really was-- so it never left the "free pickup" zone. But the town's having Free Cleanup Week, and he was inspired to load up the ski machine once I'd unloaded the cabinets we took off someone else's Free Pickup Zone! :~) It's gone offa MY yard, and it will get more attention in town, is all I care! :~)

Well, I guess MY day will be spent filling up the winter emergency water supply jugs. Got 10 gallons of washwater already stowed-- now it's on to the filtered drinking water. The rest of the winter weatherizing is pretty much done for the year, also nicely timed by us both as get-up-and-stretch activities while we've been crazy-busy with church and MIL activities-- that cycle where we normally alternate between doing too much on our feet and collapsing in recovery. This year, my sun-bulbs got going early enough to keep us both moving.... damn the arthritis, it really IS better to keep moving!
