Not sure I can be a huge help, but I love Skye and Mull (and Iona, just of Mull). Gaelic is spoken to some extent in all of the western isles. When we were in Skye in May, we stayed in a little B&B for £15/night. Booked it at a tourist information place in Fort William earlier in the day.
