Alan Rickman played the heavies in both Robin Hood Prince of Thieves and Quigley Down Under. Both were released around 1990-ish. He used the "heart out with a spoon" in both.
The dimwit minion questioning whether he should have said something sharper, like an axe, was in RHPOT.
