We have used this last day of October for the following:

Pulled all of the red and green cabbage from the garden, cleaned each one, and packed them into crates for storage in the cellar.
Built a protective produce storage bin for veggies down cellar. Replaced plastic over the windows in the attached shed.Cleared all the potted plants off of the farm stand. Chased next door's ginger cat away from our bantams, who hollered for help just in time. Moved all the potted apple trees near the cellar entrance for eventual winter storage. Hauled another cart of produce trimmings and culls for composting. Scattered fish meal over the garlic-bed-to-be. Weeded.

Cleared the top of the Melodian (organ type) that stands where our dining table would be if we had one. Cleared the top of a bookcase. Sorted out a bag and a box of various unnecessary items for tomorrow's trip to recycling. Closed the last storm windows. Washed two loads of laundry. Traded an uncomfortable chair for a comfy used wing chair.
